Exposure: the image as a seen word
In addition to the popular tours of Bohuslav Martinů's birthplace in the tower of the Church of St. James, it is now also possible to see the newly built exhibition - The Picture as the Seen Word. These are artistically valuable and previously unknown to the public paintings, sculptures and books from the deanery of Polička. Each of the exhibits has its own story - for example, the wooden statue of an angel survived the devastating fire in 1845. The exposition is located in the north chancel of the church, next to the organ. In addition, the route of this tour also leads to the unique attic area, which is open to the public for the first time, where you can admire the historic rafters of extraordinary span and an otherwise inaccessible view of the reverse of the church vaults. Admission: 40,- CZK adults, 20,- CZK children, students, seniors. Tickets can be purchased in parish office. Entrance to the exposition only when accompanied by a guide. Separately, you can see the interior of the church.
Opening hours of the exhibition: June: Saturday, July - August: Monday - Saturday. The tours begins at 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 o´clock in the vestibule of the church.
